SCENARIOS FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE IN 2030

In a future with level 5 autonomous vehicle, what we will be doing on board? More in particular, how professionals and enterprise could benefit from the time spent en route? What will mean being “augmented”? 

Nowadays several enterprise show already the willingness of bringing together research, development and production in big structures similar to garages/workshops. In the future being multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and even anti-disciplinary will be necessary not just for the single worker but for the company itself. 

However the displacement in such big campus enormously fragment worker’s workflow, waisting his time. Furthermore the space occupied by parked car it’s generally more than half of the space occurred by the enterprise itself.

What if autonomous car could make workflow in these campus more fluid?

We envisioned a new research station, Symbi[au], where the autonomous car constitute the offices themselves. It a new genre of modular spaces, which adapt to workers necessity and encouraging collaboration and exchange. In this way, it is not the workers who goes to the right place, but it’s the right office reaching him. 

We imagined different kind of modular space: the enterprise’s cell, which mobility is less frequent depending on the project or collaboration, and the labs, which are on-demand space for everyday needs, like pro-typing lab or ideation lab.
